It's the Little Things....

I had an idea in mind for an upcoming project I'm working on for the next UStamp with Dawn and Friends and wanted to use a lined stamp set....I decided on the "Going Green" stamp set.  I watercolored the flowers using the SU! colored pencils and then used the blender pen to bring out the color.  I really like how they turned out.  The key to watercoloring with the pencils is the darker you color in the better the blending pen will work.  I found using a circular motion helps bring the color throughout the image without having to color the whole image in...does that make sense?  Here is a close up of the flowers so you can see the watercoloring effect.  When I cut out the flowers I made sure that I left a little white around the edges to give the flowers more depth.

I love this new tulip framed embossing folder....my friend Shalae has an awesome tutorial video on how to use this folder in the big shot...click here to check it out....

Sale-A-Bration Ends in 5 Days!!!!

It's hard to believe that it's almost over.....the best time of year to get into Stampin' UP!!!!!  The starter kit is a great deal right now and you also get the sale-a-bration deal....for every $50 you spend, you pick a free stamp set.  There are also digital downloads to get for free as well.  I like having both options....Go onto my Stampin' UP! website and check out the promotions and order while it's HOT!!!!
Today is my brother's birthday and I wanted to make him a card.  The big trend right now is embossing.....using the impressions folders for the Big Shot are amazing.  I took the DSP for the background and ran it through the lattice folder.  I love the depth it gives to the card.  I also paper pieced the present stamp...again adding some depth to the card.   The card will be a little late but at least I sent one :)

Guest Designing Again!!!!

For the past few month I have been a guest designer for UStamp with Dawn and Friends.   I have had more fun creating...it has really helped me get my mojo going and also feel that I am being creative.   Dawn Rapsas is an amazing person to design for and I have been introduced to so many other demonstrators that I probably would have ever known if I had not designed for her website.

This picture is the design project that I created for the round that just started...Big Shot Brilliance....if you would like to join,  just click on the widget on the right for the website.    The projects are unbelievable and with your fee you receive tons of tutorials made by extremely creative designers.  Not only do you get these tutorials, you also can sit in on live chats with the designers and other members.  You can also post your pictures of the designs that you create from the tutorials.  It's a really fun community to belong to and so worth the money.  I would love to see some of my followers join me over there.....
